Autumn in Vermont - Wow!
We all know that fall is a fantastic season in Vermont. For many Vermonters, myself included, it is our favorite season. Autumn this year has been particularly spectacular, with warm sunny days, cool nights, and the resulting fall foliage display that takes our breath away. Autumn also is the best season for my personal passion, horseback riding, plus it's high school soccer season. And on top of that, business is good and we are extremely busy at the firm. So while I have continued to generate ideas for blog postings, I confess, I have not touched this blog since August. I have been spending time with my horse including our annual trail riding trip with friends to Vershire Riding School, and as an avid high school soccer fan (go Rebels! The Cole brothers on the South Burlington team are our sons, and the team is 12-2-0 heading into the play-offs). And I have been taking time for fall chores such as putting away boats for the season, which is a fun excuse to be on the lake during the fall and is a welcome sign that ski season is on the way. Yes, we have an idyllic lifestyle in Vermont, it's all true. Of course all of this autumn fun has to be worked into a busy professional schedule. I have friends working on Wall Street and they report that New York City and the entire metropolitan area resonating into upstate New York, New Jersey and Connecticut is paralyzed by the breakdown in our financial system. Here in Vermont, our economy is not so directly tied to Wall Street so we are sharing the pain with the rest of the country but it is not a time of fear and anxiety. Yet another reason to move your business to Vermont - life is very good here!
